Katia began her musical journey at the age of six years old. In 2000 she achieved her Bachelor’s degree in Music from the Higher Institute of Arts in Havana and since then has been working as a specialist in music teaching at “Ernesto Lecuona Arts School, focusing on Piano, Theory, Musical

appreciation, Traditional Harmony, musical Analysis, and Methodology.

In 2013 she completed her Masters in Educational Sciences at the University of Pedagogical Sciences “She was the head of the Department and main teacher for Theory in Music at the Sancti Spiritus Provincial Art School and in 2023 she was appointed the Main Specialized teacher. Katia has over 23 years’ experience in teaching music from an elementary to advanced level in piano and is very

passionate when it comes to music.
